![]() This can be useful when you want to use your whole feature later on. For the point you simply create points on the screen by single clicking and placing them. Moving along, we also have a Slot tool, and a Point tool, similar to other slot tools, you select the first point, second point and then the thickness of your slot. But, if I want to, I can put a dimension onto any of these, using the Dimension tool, and resize them, accordingly. I can grab the entities I've created and just drag them and drop them around without them resizing, which is something different. The same is true with the rectangular sketch entities. And you'll notice that they have automatic relations that snap to other items inside of the sketch. Once all of these entities are created, you can grab them by their shaded contour and drag them and move them, if you like. Three Point Circle, instead you choose the first point, the second point and then a third point to make a triangle, and define where the circle is. Choose the center, drag out and second click again to end it. Moving along, we can make a Center Circle or a Three Point Circle, pretty simple. So at the end of this line I'm just going to draw an arc out, and you can see that that's tangent to the other line. Center point, second point, and then draw the arc that we want. I'm going to do that one more time over here. If we use the Center Arc, we choose the center, move out to make the radius and then draw the arc. So clicking on Three Point Arc, we simply select three points to create our arc, and you'll see we select the beginning point, the end point and then basically the radius. Moving along, we also have Three Point Arc, Center Arc and Tangent Arc. Can do that with the Center Rectangle, as well. We can simple single click, drag and drop to create our rectangle. Moving along, we also have the Rectangles and the Center Rectangle available to us. And then when you're done, you can just hit Escape. So you can toggle back and forth there between arcs and lines. Bring it back one more time and you're back to a vertical line. This is something that we've brought from SolidWorks. If you come back onto a line and pull back out, you'll see that you can make an arc. So click, drag and release to just make a single line, or single click, and you can make a continuous set of lines. I can also click and hold down and drag to create a line, and then lift my left mouse button and it'll end the line. If I double click, it ends the line that I was making. So I'm going to single click, and as I second click, it's going to end the line and start a new line and move along. I'm going to go over, click on the line feature, and just start drawing. You can see that the interface already orients it so that I'm working straight on, or normal, to it. So, I'm going to click on Create New Sketch, and pick this plane. The first thing we want to do is Create or Edit a new sketch. Now, for this video, we're going to start with half of the Sketch tab, and in the second video we're going to move on to the rest of the features. So let's go down to the tool bar and take a look at the Sketch tab. #LINKEDIN LEARNING SOLIDWORKS XDESIGN VIDEOS HOW TO#Learn your way around the user interface discover how to collaborate in 3DSpace explore the sketch, feature, surface, and assembly environment and create models using the powerful design guidance features in xDesign.- When starting any part we're generally going to start with a sketch.
